Salut à tous,
Firstly, a BIG merci to all those who showed up for our film screening before the term break! despite the minor hiccups we had, we are glad that alot of you enjoyed yourselves, and we certainly had fun too.
Ok anyway, a rather exciting piece of news to lighten up your moods from all that school work. The 23rd Singapore French Film Festival is on its way! Kicks off this Saturday, 6th Oct, and will last till next Sunday,14th Oct. Now isn't that exciting? haha. Do look through the schedule, because some of the films really look enticing. ;)
More information can be found on the link below, on Alliance Française's website. http://www.alliancefrancaise.org.sg/whats.html
Oui oui, c'est tous! Hopefully the films will provide the much needed breather for all of us.
Happy viewing and till the next time then!
à bientôt!

Hi all! I am so excited to tell you that we will be screening Jeux d'enfants this month for our screening of september!

Talk about making a game out of love... or was that love out of a game? Cemented in the belief of a never-ending love, this love story takes a rather unexpected twist, turning this modern fairytale into a masterpiece.
Better than sex, better than love, better than life itself.
Are you game?
Thursday, 20th September 2007
Central Library Theatrette
6.45 pm
There will be a small tea reception after the movie, therefore R.S.V.P (nus.francophile@gmail.com) is encouraged. Can you imagine preparing for 5 people, then having 20 people show up? As usual, bring along your friends, even those who are not learning French in NUS!(english subtitles available)
(official website:http://www.paramountvantage.com/loveme/index2.html)
Other than that, I was hoping to gather some help for this movie screening. Since it is the week before our mid-sem break, I am hoping to gather some helpers for this event. Please email me (private email address) at yrfaith@gmail.com if you are interested!
cap ou pas cap,
Faith

Hey guys, I am not even going to pretend I am funny today because I am tired, as most people should be at this time of the day.
Tomorrow's french table will take place at 2pm. Because the semester has pretty much started and we are all tired, dancing on tabletops is pretty much out of the question. You must call us or send us an SMS for this treasure hunt.
Yes, we are the treasure and you are the pirate. Just don't overrate yourself and start calling yourself Johnny Depp. The last time my friend did that, I punched him in the face and ended up in detention. True story.
So

SALUT!! just a gentle reminder, there's
FRENCH TABLE
as usual tomorrow evening, same time, same place.
for the uninitiated, that is 6:30pm at Arts Canteen second floor. no french cuisine yet, but perhaps we might make that a reality...soon? haha. responses people. we need response. if you're brimming with ideas on how we can make things better or even if it's something simple like recommending affordable french food (yumyum!), please come on down tomorrow and tell us about it!
of course tomorrow doesn't have to be a feedback session. feel free to rant about what got you most happy, very excited, seriously depressed or just plain bored ( get the idea? ;) ) this week, be it french-related or not.
ok! better go before I start ranting here. haha. look out for me and the 'La Table Française' sign tomorrow! no I won't be dancing on the chair yet but if alot of you come I might just dance for joy! ;)
ok, buzz me at 9 090 1523 ( Chunyin )
do drop me a msg before that if you can so I'll know who to expect.
à demain!

The wealthy editor Pierre Brochant (Thierry Lhemitte) and his friends have a competition: every Wednesday, each one of them invites the dumbest jackass he can find for a dinner, where each one of the guests is invited to talk about himself as much as possible. Later, after the guests say goodbye, the group of friends makes fun and elects the more stupid and imbecile guest. Pierre invites François Pignon (Jacques Villeret), a man that works in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and makes "maquettes" to forget his beloved wife, who had went away with a friend of him two years ago, for the dinner. However, a tough pain in one vertebra of his spinal column does not allow Pierre to meet his friends for the game and he stays alone with solicitous, but clumsy and stupid François in his apartment. Every attempt of François helping Pierre goes wrong, becoming the night of Pierre a terrible nightmare. Written by Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
(Pardon the not so good english, it was evidently taken off a website WITH PROPER CREDITATION.)
Movie Screeing this Friday, 24th of August 2007
Time: 6.30 pm
Location: Library theatrette 2
Please R.S.V.P (nus.francophile@gmail.com), so we know how much food we should be preparing. (By the way, external contributions are always welcomed.)
lots of love,
Faith
FAQS
Q: May I please bring a friend along?
A: Yes of course you may! The more the merrier. In the event that there aren't enough seats, the gentlemen will have to give up their seats for the ladies and sit on the floor. We are very polite, because it is a very french thing to do. Also because I am female and you will be giving up your seat for me if you are male.
Q: What if I don't learn french? May I still attend the screening?
A: Bien sur! Who knows, more of these events and we may just get you hooked onto the language. ;)
Q: Will there be another screening of this movie? I can't make it for this event.
A: No, there won't be another screening. But you can easily borrow the DVD from the school library for "view-in"s.

Hands up if you enjoyed the last french table!
I know I did. What more could we have asked for? An enthusiastic group, curious onlookers and a dancing Professeur. My hands are waving enthusiastically in the air!
SO! Tomorrow we resume our routine for La Table Francaise a Mecredi. Where we MIGHT have more games and definitely more time to talk. Theme for tomorrow?
What is so french about you?
Is it your dressing? The colour of your hair? The most treasured DVD in your collection? Your favourite french clip in Youtube.com? French book? A recipe? Or maybe a boy/girlfriend? Bring along pictures of your trip to France if you have any! And if you haven't seen Alex's pictures of France, drop by and have a look. We all saw awesome written all over it.
So, same time (6.30pm), same place (Arts Canteen, HOPEFULLY in front of the chinese cooked food stall)
I won't be standing on the chair anymore. Look out for a big sign on the table
or buzz anyone of us! (If you decide to send a message, please leave your names...)

lots of love,
Faith

Salut! Je suis Faith et je voudrais parler en anglais parce-que je ne peux pas continuer en francais.
haha, that was random.
Hey guys! C'est moi! Faith! And I would like to remind you about French Table tomorrow evening (Friday, 17th August 2007) at 6.30pm in the Arts Canteen (The DECK). There, we will have our dinner, talk, get to know each other and have some ice-breaking games. Do come down and have some fun after an extremely tedious (haha) week 1!
How do you find us in our spanking new and big canteen? That is easy! Chunyin and I will be dancing on the stools like ballerinas and the others will be dancing to the Nutcracker Suite to the roles of THE OTHER TOYS.
Otherwise, should you need a more logical way to find us, simply give us a buzz at
90901523 (Chunyin)
97377742 (Faith)
you can also send us an email at nus.francophile@gmail.com .
Please come down and join us tomorrow!
besta!
